15s get their Rumble on

Both 15s were in action this weekend at the Irish Rumble in Lancaster, PA. Both squads played in the 15 Club tournament.

The new coaches for 15 Black had only a few moments in which to learn about their team and Coach Annie and her staff of 15 Red are riding high after a great 16 Club performance the week prior.

15 Black had a good start in their 1st pool winning their first match but losing the 2nd to advance with a shot at Gold Bracket. In their 2nd pool of the day 15 Black went 0-2 losing 1 set by 2 points falling out of hope to continue to fight for Gold bracket play.

15 Black started Sunday with a crossover match to play for a higher overall finish but were defeated by GEVA rival OCVBC 15 Jackie and finished their day in the Emerald bracket losing in 2 sets. The ladies with new coaches did not have an easy road as they played the teams that ended up 3rd, 5th and 9th.  They will be better next time.

15 Red riding high from playing up the prior tournament were closer to full strength and started their 1st pool winning both matches although the squad was extended to 3 sets vs. SYAVBC 15 Green. Pool 2 was a rollercoaster ride as the ladies lost their 1st set and then battled back to defeat X-Factor 15U including a 15-6 in the 3rd set. GEVA rival CJ Heat 15N was up next and 15 Red dropped the 1st set again and dominated in the 2nd set 25-9 but lost the 3rd set 15-7 to go into the Gold/Silver crossover.

15 Red faced a team which the day before defeated 15 Black in Blue Ridge 15 Blue and 15 Red could not avenge the defeat and also lost in 2 sets to move to the Silver bracket.  In Silver bracket play, GPS Crush 15 Silver awaited. The 1st set was bravely fought but 15 Red fell short 30-28 and 25-12. Overall finish of 21st.

Both teams are off for a spell before returning on March 26th.
